BILSTEIN and the 24-hr race |
|
Germany, Ennepetal, 8th April 2010 – The
38th ADAC Zurich 24-hour race will be held from 13th to 16th May, with BILSTEIN
partnering the event both on and off the track. A large number of the racing
teams taking part will be relying on BILSTEIN suspension technology. The
suspension specialists will once again be in the paddock with their motor
sports truck and their attention will be focused on providing technical support
for the teams, as well as being the contact point for customers requiring
advice. BILSTEIN representative Walter Röhrl will be participating in this
year's 24-hour race, and both he and the well-known racing driver Marc Basseng
will be guests at the BILSTEIN motor sports truck for an exclusive autographing
session before the race, with the exact time being announced on the BILSTEIN
stand.
Once again many of the cars lining up for the start of
the 24-hour race will be fitted with BILSTEIN shock absorbers, with more
BILSTEIN vehicles this time than at last year's event. This year there will be
more BILSTEIN vehicles than ever before. In addition to Farnbacher-Racing's
Ferrari F430, at least six Audi R8 LMS cars are expected to be competing in the
24-hour round-the-clock pursuit for the Phoenix, Abt Sportsline and Black
Falcon teams. BILSTEIN has a further iron in the fire for an overall win in the
shape of Mamerow Racing's brand new Porsche GT3 R. Apart from the cars
competing for overall victory, the 24-hour race has a further distinguishing
feature - the many changes in position in the individual class results. In this
race professionals and amateurs battle neck and neck every inch of the way,
with the majority of amateurs also relying on BILSTEIN suspension units. The
comeback of twice rally world champion Walter Röhrl in a standard Porsche 911
GT3 RS is a special highlight of this year's event. Although electronic
suspension systems are not used in the racing cars, Porsche is relying here on
BILSTEIN's standard PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) suspension
unit.
